The Elm Tree Road bridge in the City of Kawartha Lakes is temporarily closed from September 8 to November 15, 2025, for bridge rehabilitation work, which prohibits all vehicular and pedestrian traffic. A detour is in place for both northbound and southbound traffic, and details can be found on municipal511.ca.

Detour Routes
- Southbound:Little Britain Road, Eldon Road, Ramsey Road, and Valentia Road.
- Northbound:Valentia Road, Ramsey Road, Eldon Road, and Little Britain Road.
Driving Directions from Toronto
- Go East on Highway 401 towards Newcastle to Highway 35/115. (87.7km’s)
- Go North on Highway 115 to Highway 35. (46.7km’s) “Lindsay”
- Turn left on Highway #7 and travel West to Little Britain Road.
- Turn left on Little Britain Road (Country Road #4) to Elm Tree Road and turn left onto Elm Street Road (at flashing light).
Continue South on Elm Tree Road for 3km adn look for our sign on the left side of the road, just over the bridge.
Driving Directions from Peterborough
- Go West on Highway #7 and travel one set of lights West of Highway #7 and Highway #35 intersection.
- Turn left on Little Britain Road (Country Road #4) to Elm Tree Road and turn left (at flashing light).
Continue South on Elm Tree Road for 3km and look for our sign on the left side of the road, just over the bridge.
Driving Directions from Fenelon Falls
- Go South on Highway #35 to Thunder Ridge Road. At traffic light, turn right “West” and travel to Elm Tree Rd.
- Turn left on Elm Tree Road “South.” Follow Elm Tree Road past Highway #7 to flashing light at the corner of Elm Tree Road and Little Britain Road.
- Continue South on Elm Tree Road for 3km and look for our sign on the left side of the road, just over the bridge.
